What is recruitment and   selection process?

As per the Armstrong Recruitment is the process of finding and engaging the people the organization needs. Selection is that part of the recruitment process concerned with deciding which applicants or candidates should be appointed to jobs

Further the recruitment and selection have few steps in process which has been conducted and practiced in many organization.

The stages of recruitment and selection are:

1 Defining requirements.
2 Attracting candidates.
3 Sifting applications.
4 Interviewing.
5 Testing.
6 Assessing candidates.
7 Obtaining references.
8 Checking applications.
9 Offering employment.
10 Following up.

Each and every step of this process is important to an organization, recruitment is a costly activity to the organization, hence these steps were taken with much more attention and concern,
the recruitment process starts with the vacant of a position or a creation of a new designation,

1 Defining requirements

The main objective of this step is to define the role of this designation, HR will evaluate and list down the knowledge that the applicant require to play this role with the skill and abilities, (Armstrong, 2009). further the educational and technical knowledge needed to work in this role, also the experience capacity in the same field will be considered for more specification.

2 Attracting candidates.
